Norit at Brau Beviale 2007

From 14 – 16 November 2007 Norit ‘leading in purification’ will attend the Brau Beviale at the Nürnberg Messe in Germany. During this year’s exhibition the Norit Group will present their Brewery of the Future concept reducing water consumption in breweries to an all-time record of 2 liters of water for 1 liter of beer and launch a number of innovations which reflect our desire to meet the ever-demanding standards in the brewing and beverage industries.

Norit has worked diligently to expand their product and service portfolio, introducing components, systems and solutions that satisfy your growing need for quality, innovation, flexibility, minimizing your Total Cost of Ownership and supporting your efforts working towards a sustainable future. At the Brau Beviale 2007, we are proud to introduce you a large number of innovations:

• Norit’s extensive experience in beverage technology is combined in Norit’s Brewery of the Future. All of Norit’s know-how and state-of the-art technologies like Norit Südmo hygienic valves, Norit Haffmans Total CO2and O2Management and Norit Process Technology’s revolutionary Beer Membrane Filtration are combined into the most advanced brewery concept meeting the highest quality requirements and economic and environmental standards. Thanks to Norit’s Membrane BioReactor for wastewater treatment, water consumption is lowered to a world record of 2 liters of water for 1 liter of beer, energy consumption, cost for operations and maintenance are reduced by almost 50 percent in comparison to average breweries. The brewery has recently been put into operation in Belgium and is currently under construction in Shanghai, China.

• Norit Haffmans - celebrating its 60th anniversary this year - will present a new and highly accurate in-line oxygen measurement (OGM), which rarely requires calibration. Beverage producers can reduce energy consumption during the CO2recovery process by up to 60 percent with the Norit Haffmans’ Liquivap technology.

Norit Südmo has developed an aseptic valve technology using their revolutionary P³ diaphragm seal, which provides resistance to high pressure (up to 10 bar), high temperature (up to + 160 °C) and a wide range of chemicals. Customers will benefit from the extremely long service life, which reduces shutdowns of plants to a minimum, with substantial cost savings due to longer maintenance intervals.

• When it comes to treating wastewater, Norit Membrane Technology’s Membrane BioReactor technology often combined with Norit activated carbon is becoming the operator’s choice, due to the major advantages of Norit X-Flow’s inside-out ultrafiltration membrane technology. Membrane surface, footprint and energy consumption are up to 50 percent lower than average submerged systems, resulting in the lowest investment and operational cost for 1 m3of water.

• Norit Filtrix will present its recently launched new generation of point-of-use filters, Norit H2OK, based on membrane and activated carbon technology.  The Norit H2OK range is a complete line of high performance purifiers, filters, conditioners, softeners and sanitizers. Norit offers tailored solutions with customized branding and specialist fittings to meet our customers’ specific needs, especially in the field of dispensers, water- and beverage coolers.

Norit Activated Carbon will present its latest innovations in the field of activated carbon technology and focus especially on the various application possibilities for the beverage industry, such as activated carbon treatment for the improvement of taste and odor of wine and beer.

Wherever you look around the world, Norit is leading in the purification of beer, beverage, juice, water, and wine. Our motivated team is excited by our successes and will do their utmost to be your partner of choice. In case one of our technologies or applications draws your attention, we would like to invite you to visit our website www.norit.com or come and visit us in Nuremberg at our booth (hall 6, stand 321).
